A century and quarter ago there lived an accomplished missionary cum evangelist, Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara (1805-1871), in the outskirts of Kainakary near Alappuzha. His educational enthusiasm was conceived in altruism and dedicated to the noble end of holistic enlightenment to the entire humanity. He is the founder of the order of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) by whom the ever refurbishing chain of a number prestigious academic institutions were set forth, which are at the zenith of their glory now.
In the year 1994 a dream that the enlightened local people of Koothattukulam kept ever living in their hearts got converted to a livable reality by the concerted efforts of the CMI Fathers of Kottayam Province. Thus the coarse and barren zig-zags of a dry hill acquired a total face-lift. The visage of that hill is picturesque with an evergreen back-ground in an eco-friendly vicinity of serenity and tranquillity. The young, little and very little ones above the age of terrible two feel at home here to savour anything and everything that they see around so that they would find this world a lot more beautiful. They shrug off monotony and make life a blend of everything that pertains to their aspirations and while doing so they believe in themselves. Apart from cognitive development they build their self-confidence through a value-based philosophy to substantiate their personality. Their talents are accentuated and potentials manifested through umpteen openings.
