Sports and Games are given a lot of boosting in our school. Marygiri is leaping ahead in this field with the presence of four fulltime physical education teachers. One hour each for every class is set apart for physical education in a week. Marygiri has its own under 14, under 16 and under 19 basket ball teams, under 19 football team, under 16 and under 19 cricket teams, under 16 and under 19 volleyball team and shuttle badminton teams. Interested and selected students form our Sports Team. They all undergo regular and intense training and coaching in various coaching camps.
SANJO SPORTS – OVERALL CHAMPIONS with 215 points. The following students wer individual champions of the meet:
CENTRAL KERALA CBSE SPORTS – First runner up with 166 points and out of five categories champions in three. We also had the privilege of hosting the event. Nimmy Biju became individual champion in Under 19 girls while Joyal Jose became individual champion in Under 14 boys category.
ALL KERALA CMI CBSE SPORTS – CHAMPIONS with 165 points and out of seven categories champions in five.
CBSE STATE SPORTS – Third Runnerup with four students qualifying for national meet. They are: Nimmy Biju, Maria Teres Kochikkunnel, Rindhuja Treesa Johnson and Stella Michael. Nimmy Biju of Marygiri was declared the best athlete of the meet.
In CBSE National Sports Meet, Held at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Nimmy Biju got silver medal for 100 meter race. In National Karate Championship held at Thrissur Marygiri became the national CHAMPIONS.
